Here is something fans of All My Children, One Life To Live and General Hospital may want to be a part of.

On April 14 fans are asked “To Show their True Colors ”

Fans of All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital will unite nationwide to show their continued loyalty on April 14, 2014, the 3rd anniversary of the ABC cancellations. Fans will wear the color blue to show they are “true blue” fans on True Blue Soap Monday! Fans will post selfies on the Event Facebook Page and on twitter using the hashtags #AMC #OLTL #GH and #truebluesoapmonday. Event organizers are also planning Special Event Day activities for several U.S. cities.

The idea for the event was developed by the administrators of the Facebook Soap Group, ABC Bring Back “Love in the Afternoon”. Susan English, creator of the group, said “We wanted to show ABC and the actors of the two cancelled iconic soaps that there is still a tremendous fan base out there wanting these show to return to the network lineup. Fans want to restore “Love in the Afternoon” on ABC. What better way to prove this than by showing our “true blue colors”.

“Our fan base is truly diverse” continues English. ” The idea for commemorating the cancellation anniversary came from a devoted viewer from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The idea for the “true blue” aspect of the event was suggested by a lesbian soap and music enthusiast from Seattle.” As for English herself, she started watching the soaps as a teen and then, followed them through college and her career thru newspaper synopses and later, Soapnet. “The importance of these shows hit home for me in the spring of 2008 when I was told I needed a life saving liver transplant,” said English. “My stories gave me a brief daily respite from dealing with the deterioration of my health.”

Of course, everyone knows what happened that dark day in April 2011 when All My Children and One Life to Live were cancelled by ABC. It was followed by the protests of many soap fans on Facebook and Twitter and eventually led to the attempt by Prospect Park to briefly bring the soaps to the Internet. However, since Prospect Park has shelved those plans and recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, fans’ focus returns to ABC. “The majority of the replacement programming ABC has implemented has dismally failed,” said English. “General Hospital, to the contrary, has experienced an amazing resurgence due to soap fans. We hope to demonstrate to Bob Iger, Anne Sweeney, Ben Sherwood and Vicki Dummer of Disney/ABC that there is a renewed demand for AMC, OLTL and GH on ABC Daytime! They can restore the network’s luster by bringing back “Love in the Afternoon”.

English says her Facebook group members are hopeful that ABC will see the error of its ways. True Blue Soap Monday is designed to do just that. English, herself, is optimistic. “A year ago, I was in a hospital struggling to recover from a ruptured spleen and then six months later, I received the gift of life-a liver transplant. If I could survive the odds, I think AMC, OLTL, and GH can too.”

This is a very positive idea without threats or dismal circumstances just fans showing their love for there soaps in a heartwarming way.

So join the true blue fan group and be there April 14th. Thanks Ms English!

The Young and the Restless news

The Young and the Restless may be searching for an actor to play the role of Adam Newman, last played by Michael Muhney. Nelson Branco reports that the casting breakdown that went out to agents and managers issued the following for the part of “Aaron Newton” that would begin taping in May.

Description: “Caucasian Male. Mid-30s to Late-30s. A very handsome, very SEXY, very appealing, very charming LEADING MAN. Aaron is a smart businessman, loves women, and can out maneuver even the shrewdest. NOTE: Actor must be AT LEAST 5’10 and have NO ACCENT PLEASE. This actor will carry major storylines. ONLY actors with strong acting experience will be considered.”
Do you think Aaron Newton might be Adam Newman?

Y&R’s new Kelly, actress Cady McClain, who will be taking over the role from Cynthia Watros, tweeted, “NEWSFLASH! My first air date is April 16th, not the 24th… so… it’s SOON! Yipee!!”

Matthew Atkinson,@JMattAtkinson (PARENTHOOD, JANE BY DESIGN, CSI, DROP DEAD DIVA and ONE TREE HILL) has been hired for the recurring role of Austin and will air April 17. His first scenes will be with Steve Burton (Dylan) and Jessica Collins (Avery). He will be playing a cameraman working with Avery on her new venture.

A good friend of the soaps and the fight to save them, Sue Okonis, has a wonderful idea to show the actors of Guiding Light, Another World and As The World Turns how much they are appreciated and missed everyday. Sue would like to organize a celebration of the lost soaps and their actors. A big party where fans and actors would attend to celebrate each other.

In her own words Sue Okonis asks for help. “This is not going to happen without help from other people. One person can’t do this alone. Please join the group if interested. This can be a lot of fun and you can make many lifelong friends. We devoted many hours watching these wonderful shows. Now is the time to give some time to get together with fans and hopefully stars of these shows to remember the many hours of joy they gave us”.

She has almost 70 people already signed up to attend and would like to know what the group is interested in helping with. :People are needed to help find an affordable venue. We need people to publicize the reunion”, which I am happy to start, but anyone can pass the word along to their friends and groups. “People are needed to write a letter to the stars agents or to them directly. We also need people to be willing to post about the group to other groups. The more help we get the easier this should be. Remember you don’t have to attend the reunion to help.”

She has also asked about making this a charity event. What a great idea. What do you think? Let Sue know.

Sue also asks that we please do not send the stars personal information as a post. Please message her. “We need to respect the stars privacy.” She appreciates the information and will note it.

Sue is a true fan and a giver always helping in anyway she can. She has fought for her soaps, and now wants to let the stars know we will never forget them and the hours and hours of happiness they all brought us.

This will be the first of many updates and we hope you will go to the Facebook page and join us so this celebration can become a reality.

Here is the link to give out to the group:

Sean Kanan moving from Port Charles to sunny Los Angeles

As we all have seen AJ Quartermaine has been treated just as badly by Ron Carlivatti as any other writer on General Hospital. It seems that AJ is the character to be kicked around, not only by Sonny Corinthos, but by Frank Valentini and Carlivatti most of all. After promising more “Q’s” we find less and wonder when Monica will fade into the sunset now that she has no son to worry over.

Sean was so tired of the lame storylines, so much so that this time it was by mutual agreement that he leave the show. In an interview with Michael Logan for TV Guide he commented ““I was thrilled to be brought back to GH for the 50th anniversary and really enjoyed working with Frank Valentini, but I was not over the moon about the writing. Doing stories about panic attacks and relish was not what I thought I’d signed up for. I feel I brought everything I could to the character yet it was obvious they weren’t going to give me a great love story, which I found very disappointing.” Then “I spoke with Frank and we mutually agreed that if I wasn’t happy, and they could find a good way to write me out, that it was best to wrap it up.”

Sean then called Brad Bell and told him he was free and was immediately offered a contract to come back as Deacon Sharpe. Deacon has been popular with fans of The Young and the Restless, where he married in an alcoholic haze Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

“Deacon is my favorite of all the characters I’ve played,” Kanan notes. “I started my career in daytime on GH, but returning to B&B feels like I’m going home.

“TV Guide Magazine’s Michael Logan noted “Kanan will continue working at GH through March 28th, and be seen on the show for few weeks after that. He reports to B&B mid-April, with his return episode scheduled to air June 13.”

Good Luck Mr. Kanan, they wasted a good character once again on GH. Hope your time at at Bold and the Beautiful is much better.

Bold and the Beautiful can be seen at 1:30 on CBS.
