‘Person of Interest’ shocker

This may be out of the soap opera genre but tonights Person of Interest was so shocking I had to write about it. This show is so well written and acted and it is because of the actors who bring it to life every week.

Jim Caviezal is so mesmerizing as Mr. Reese and he brings his A game every week. Michael Emerson is also so excellent as the computer frankenstein creator Mr Finch. Together they make a winning team,

Taraji P Henson as Josslyn Carter is a detective every cop should try to emulate. believing in justice above all things she fights her own battles that often coincide with Reese and Finch. The three make a formidable team.

Tonight we were fooled into believing her partner would be killed, but in the end Joss was murdered by a rogue cop. After she brought the man who had her friend killed to justice one of his partners killed her and shot Reese also. Her death came hours after she and Reese shared their first kiss. A kiss that had been building for the past year.

Shockingly sad, we know Reese and Finch will work together to bring her killer down and we will cheer them on.

Person of Interest can be seen Tuesday nights on CBS at 9 p.m. est

November Sweeps are more sweeping this year

November Sweeps have been on fire this year with some very illuminating storylines.

#1 The Young and the Restless in the midst of the “Who killed Delia” very controversial story has given it’s uber talented cast some Emmy worthy story.

Billy Miller, who will be leaving Y&R and will last be seen in January, has been giving his most heart wrenching scenes as Delia’s heartbroken, guilt filled father who left her in the car while he went in the store for ice cream where she was killed by a hit and run driver. His rage at the driver is sending him down a dark road. One wonders how David Tom can ever step back into these very big shoes.

Michael Muhney’s, Adam Newman, the hit and run driver who accidentally killed Delia, is acting his heart out as the guilt ridden and tormented man who did not know Delia was there. He swerved and stopped because Delia’s dog was in the road. He did not know about Delia until the next day and then with his bad reputation it was too late.

Elizabeth Hendrikson as Delia’s mom Chloe has acted the daylights out of this storyline. She is so fragile and we wait for her to just crumble in each scene she appears in. Her looking in Conner’s eyes is devastating to watch.

Amelia Heinle, Billy’s wife Victoria has been excellent in playing the grieving stepmom and helpless wife as she watches her husband spiral out of control and shut his baby boy out of his life.

#2 Days of our Lives has been unbelievable with Kristen drugging and seducing Eric who ends up blaming Nicole while EJ kept the secret from Sami and the whole church had to watch the sex tape during Brady and Kristen’ wedding from hell and Marlena was fooled into playing the tape at the wedding. Whew what a sweeps storyline.

Add to this Jen loves Daniel but her son JJ doesn’t until Daniel gets him out of trouble after he helps……overdose. \

Will, Sonny and Gabi living happily together with baby Arianna until Nick decides Gabi should be a model in NYC and somehow gets her a huge contract deal and now she is going to take the baby and leave Will and Sonny behind. What?

#3 General Hospital with the Maxie, Spinelli, Lulu, Dante baby battle and the terrible consequences brought about by it. Stellar!

Bringing the Jerome family back to go up against the reigning mobster Sonny Corinthos was a good way of bringing the mob wars back to Port Charles. Ava is a snake and Julian seductive but deadly. On Guard Mr. Corinthos!

The return of Robin who has changed so much she thinks nothing of endangering her mother and father’s lives numerous times while trying to stop Patrick from marrying Sabrina.

The return of the ‘Super Duo’ Robert and Anna, oh wait, that didn’t work out the way it should have. Not so super with them ridiculously locked in the lab.

Herr nutso and Frau cookoo holding Duke in the tunnels while terrifying Britta, Nick, Robin and baby Ben.

AJ’s trial is just warming up but, it is frustrating that no one has thought about the fact that AJ is not the only one with those initials. PCPD at it’s finest. With the help of AJ’s loved ones he is surely going to be hanged. Elizabeth has turned into the pariah of PC with her negative testimonies. Diane had better work harder on this case than she did for Maxie or her Prada bags and Louboutin shoes will turn into Payless really quickly.

Todd, er, I mean Franco the love child of Heather and Scotty. Rewrite history much Mr Carlivati?
.
While I may find fault most fans are thrilled with the show and so it is gaining fans quite exponentially. Congrats GH

Congrats to the three soaps I have rated from one to three.Image

Kanan’s wife Michelle plays the interviewer and directs the video .Pancho Moler also appears and Kim Matula(Hope, B&B). and Patrika Darbo(Nancy, DOOL) make appearances as does Ronn Moss’ wife Devin Devasquez.

George Reinholt of Another World passes away at age 73

Another World fans here is some very bad news George Reinholt, (Steven Frame) one part of the first Super Couple with Jacqueline Courtney’s (Alice Matthews) has passed away at the age of 73. Another World was also my very favorite soap and soap fans fell in love with this beautiful couple.

I spent the 60’s and 70’s devoted to this show . George left AW and went to One Life to Live as Tony Lord, Victoria Lord’s brother. The Queen of daytime Erika Slezak is Victoira Lord and now we had a trifecta of favorite soap actors.

In 1994, he appeared on the CBS television broadcast: 50 Years of Soaps: An All Star Celebration. He was introduced by fellow actors Peter Bergmann of The Young and the Restless and Robin Strasser of Another World. The program marked his final appearance with his leading lady from Another World, the late Jacqueline Courtney.

In New York, he starred as the young NAZI, Ernst Ludwig, with the original cast of Cabaret that included Joel Grey, Lotte Lenya and Jill Haworth. He had many stage and regional theater appearances

“Beginning in 1988, he started teaching acting with fellow professional actr, Jeanette Hartunian, at Interboro High School and the Barnstormers Theatre in Ridley Park. Other classes were conducted at two locations in Philadelphia. Students reported that Mr. Reinholt had the ability to enable anyone who possessed basic communication skills to give a credible performance in a scene.

George a great story teller who was known as a renegade in the acting profession, he recently completed his memoir titled, Rogue Actor. Mr. Reinholt was also an authority on the writings of Dr. Sigmund Freud.

Survivors include his dear friend and caretaker, Ann Marie Lincoln, and longtime friends Ruth Campbell and John Magee who edited his memoir.”

Thanks Mr. Reinholt for the years of happiness you brought to your many fans.

ABC schemed in a quest for a “mega soap.” declares Prospect Park

With many tweets from ‘All My Children’ actors saying it has been canceled once again by Prospect Park, we now find that the multi-million dollar breach of contract lawsuit against ABC, alleging that the network sabotaged its plans to relaunch All My Children and One Life to Live is growing and Prospect Park has amended its complaint in its multi-million dollar lawsuit against ABC. The lawsuit accuses ABC of undermining Prospect Park’s attempts to relaunch All My Children and One Life to Live as web-based programs, and seeks more than $95 million in damages for breach of contract and promissory fraud.

Prospect Park alleges that ABC, “began unilaterally changing key storylines and themes, literally killing some OLTL characters and deeply integrating others into the GH landscape,” plus hiring two key executives from One Life to Live to create a mega soap of General Hospital without Prospect Park’s knowledge. In addition, the lawsuit claims that ABC signed OLTL actors to long term contracts secretively behind Prospect Park’s back! Prospect Park adds that it has tried its best to salvage OLTL, but ABC blocked it at every turn by refusing to run advertisements, by enlisting third parties like Hulu to back away from making any assistance, by keeping its actors away from talk shows like Good Morning America and The View. Prospect Park is relating in their lawsuit they lost $30 million in investment, as well as profits it could have made had ABC acted as “the partner it made itself out to be.”

“On Wednesday, the plaintiff filed a new amended complaint with more details of ABC’s alleged fraud and a demand for more than $95 million in damages. According to the latest court papers, ABC schemed in a quest for a “mega soap.”

Tristan Rogers heads to Genoa City in 2014

November 17, 2013

Tristan Rogers, the irresistable and charming Robert Scorpio)GH) and Colin Atkinson(Y&R) is heading from General Hospital back toThe Young and the Restless , which he confirmed with a couple of tweets via his Twitter account.
Tristan first thanked his GH family by relating: “I’d like to thank Frank (Valentini) and Ron (Carlivati) for great storyline that kept Scorpio true to himself. The decision is understandable since he is so infrequently seen on GH. Fans should understand this and support Tristan.
Mr. Rogers second tweet which showed how excited he is to return to Genoa City, when he expressed, ” I’m stoked on Colin’s return to#YR in 2014 and delighted to once again be a part of the CBS Daytime family.”

Rogers return is part of a major storyline planned for Jess Walton’s Jill!
The tweet by Rogers that he is exiting Port Charles, shocked GH’s head writer Ron Carlivati, who tweeted, “Guys, I had no idea @tristanrogers was leaving. I found out last night. I now have 1 day to write him out of a big Feb Sweeps storyline. Meanwhile, you will see a lot of Robert between now and February! And please respect @tristanrogers and his decision. Thanks. #GH”

Actors have to go where they will be appreciated and know they will be seen more than once every three of four weeks. Y&R will use him as part of a major storyline so his decision should be respected.

The Young and the Restless can be seen weekdays on CBS at 12:30 p.m. est

Ratings soar for General Hospital as Frank Valentini takes it in stride

November 8, 2013

General Hospital has something to shout about. Two of its major storylines, Robin’s (Kimberly McCullough) return and Maxie (Kirsten Storm) and Spinelli’s (Bradford Anderson) baby, in the Monday, October 28th episode gave GH it’s most watched episode in over three and a half years, 3.16 million viewers!

An ABC press release for the week of October 28th through November 1st: “Monday’s telecast which revolved around Robin learning of Patrick’s engagement and Maxie’s frantic preparation for her baby’s return – stood also as its second-most-watched telecast in over two years in Women 18-49 (857,000/1.3 rating) and two and a half years in Women 25-54 (1.13 million/1.9 rating) – since 8/15/11 and 3/25/11, accordingly.”

It also gained viewers for the fourth consecutive week, for a 10 month high (2.91 million – since 1/21/13),
We know that GH has been getting great storylines and everyone is waiting for Robin and Patrick to be reunited.

In two very different statements from Frank Valentini, Executive Producer of GH, back then “ We were all worried and we had a right to be worried. The show was in a very dark place and Ron and I managed to come and shake it up.” and now, “I think we’re really hitting our stride right now and that’s a much more comfortable pace from which to operate, but there’s never really any relaxing.”

With the ratings fans have a sign of hope for GH “Vicki Drummer, Executive Vice President of ABC Media Group and Primetime Current Series, is very happy with the direction of the show. She stated:
“Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati have done extraordinary work on ‘GH’ and have really turned the show around.”
